Now online dating is even easier and more accessible than ever before. Because of web 2.0, it is easier than ever to find a date.
MeetMoi is a mobile dating system. MeetMoi opens up uncharted territory for you when it comes to dating. All you have to do is register yourself online and then simply send a text a message about your location from your cell phone to MeetMoi, and you instantly receive profiles of singles near you. This seems to be a great idea for frequent travelers who are single and are just looking to hang out with somebody while they are in a town they know nobody in. This idea is really great because it lets people interact with others even if you know absolutely nobody in the town that you are in.
You also get to determine whether there are any people whose profiles meet your search criteria AND if they are within a certain specified distance of you. If MeetMoi finds a match, they’ll send you a persons’ profile via a text message and if you like what you see, you can text message the person you like anonymously and eventually arrange a meeting. This feature is particularly beneficial because of the speed of text messaging versus sending an email or online message. It would take A LOT longer to get to the point of meeting with a person over email messaging rather than text messaging where you could interact a lot more with a person. So whether you’re at a bar, a restaurant, or just at home, you can open your phone and use MeetMoi to browse, chat, and meet people near you.
The service has a free membership and also a paying membership. The free membership lets you basically do everything except initiate messages with other people.
MeetMoi is also safe because it does not reveal your actual location, just whether or not you are within a vicinity of another person.
Its really simple, and it cuts down on the sweat and toil it takes to find a decent date. It sounds great for the frequent traveler or even anyone interested in just finding a date. This new technology has great capabilities and i am very impressed with the idea behind it and the ingenuity behind connecting the internet and cell phones. Aligning the internet with cell phones is becoming a bigger and bigger offering in web 2.0 today and services that are doing this are seeing huge potential in their future.

A new web 2.0 service called Fluttervoice helps you make invoicing real easy. You no longer have to deal with Excel or Word documents. Using Fluttervoice, you can easily keep track of invoices going out, and payments coming in. And there’s also a special area for your clients to view all of their past invoices sent by you.
It seems perfect for small businesses and freelancers. Now the hassle of creating invoices and sending them to clients is easy.
Fluttervoice comes in two formats: the free account and the paid account.
The free account only allows you to process 3 invoices per month, which is kind of lame because nobody really only processes 3 invoices a month. To get the full use out of Fluttervoice you have to sign up for the payment format which comes in 3 different types of payment plans including £4/month, £8/month, and £20/month, depending on how many invoices you plan on using. They are based in england so that is why the pricing is in pounds.
Paying plans allow you to create more invoices and clients than the free plan allows you to, and you can also upload your own invoice stylesheets. not only that, but you can add your own Logo, or choose from a range of ready designed templates that make your invoices look the way you want them to. if you want to backup content from your Fluttervoice account, you can export anything you’ve typed into Fluttervoice at any time into an XML-formatted text file.
Your clients can also print out their invoices from a specially designated client access area.
I really feel this is a useful tool for any small business or independent contractor, especially start-ups as this takes away all the hassle of creating and sending invoices to your clients. this can be extremely useful in a commodity business or any business that processes a lot of orders.

A new web 2.0 service called Site24x7 allows webmasters to get continuous monitoring of their websites. This means that if your website goes down, you will be notified immediately.
Not only this, but Site24x7 also does online store monitoring, web page content check for valid content or error messages, web page defacement check, high page load time monitoring, website performance tracking, ability to integrate uptime/downtime stats on your website, daily/weekly downtime reports through email, and feature-rich reports.
This is a really great service because most webmasters simply rely on their web hosting company for monitoring uptime, but the only problem is that most web hosts dont inform their clients of when their site goes down. this service tells you when your site is not functioning the way you want it. not only that but it also checks your content and gives you stats on your uptime.
I think that the coolest part about this service is that they alert you via email, sms, or rss feed. This means that if your site goes down, you can instantly be notified about it via your cell phone. so even if you are not on your computer, you will know how your site is doing. i believe this is REALLY IMPORTANT because downtime for a website = loss of revenue. and if you are not notified about your downtime, then you are losing money and you dont even know that you are losing it. not only that but if your users see that your site is down, they probably will not want to visit it again so keeping your website up is vital. i am really impressed with this service.
They have a basic free membership that lets you monitor 2 websites at 60 minute intervals. then there are standard and premeire memberships that allow you to have unlimited websites monitored at unlimited intervals. this means if you pay you can have Site24x7 checking your website for downtime every minute of the day, and it is probably worth it to do this in my opinion.
i believe this is a very useful service that many webmasters probably overlook in their work. if your website is down, then you have nothing and your users are going to hate it. and the worst thing would be to not even know that your website is down.

I have found a new web 2.0 service that lets you basically connect all of your email accounts, contacts, notes, calendars, and social networking information in one central location. It’s called Plaxo.
Plaxo is a really great idea. It connects you with your family and friends and lets you know what their doing same as facebook would do, but it also allows you to incorporate the rest of the things that you use like your Yahoo!, Gmail, and Microsoft Outlook accounts. It allows you to share videos and photos as well and basically anything you want such as news stories.
It also allows you to distinguish your online profile from your personal profile and your professional profile, so you can have it for business AND personal use.
Not only that, but it is also made available on your mobile phone so you can have access to this information central anywhere you go.
They’ve really thought this out and it seems like a great concept: basically centralizing everything you would possibly use on a daily basis in one location and making it available on your mobile phone as well.
I just signed up for it and it seems really cool. The cool thing about it is that its not just some new type of social networking site that is starting from scratch, it incorporates your current social networks into it so anybody that uses facebook or myspace etc. can sign up and be running with it right away.
This is a great new technology service because it combines the aspect of an innovative centralizing idea with a positive network effect that already exists so there will not be a downtime in getting new users to sign up and having to build up the network. once somebody signs up, the network is already there due to the massive popularity of facebook and other social networking sites.
i believe this service will greatly reduce time consumption for all people, especially those that use multiple social networking sites but it is also very useful and convenient for anybody that has contacts to keep, and family and friends they would like to keep in touch with and share things with.
this new technology is helping people to combine their daily lives into one location. a very useful and probably will be successful venture.

Web 2.0 service enhances mobile devices, communications April 7, 2008

Skype lets you make free and/or very cheap long distance calls to other skype users through the use of voice-over-ip technology on your personal computer. It has been around for a while now but recently it has been made available for use with your mobile device. So now you can use skype on your cell phone to make very inexpensive or sometimes free (depending on where you call) long distance calls, but the people you call have to have skype also installed on their mobile device.
It is not yet available for all cell phones but it is starting to roll out for different types of phones. It is available for the popularly growing apple iphone.
This is the start of a great technological enhancement for mobile phones and communications through the use of a web 2.0 service. imagine when all or most phones will have skype pre-installed on them; there will no longer be excessive or high long distance call charges. on top of that, skype allows users to use all of their other services including IM, call forwarding, and video calling.
The only drawback right now of this great service is the limited number of phones that have skype on it so there are not that many people that can use or make calls with it. And even if you have it on your phone, you can only call other people that have it on installed on their phone. Also, some people have complained about dropped calls and skype not being as consistent as they would like it to be. However i believe that once the positive network externality takes effect and the network of users starts to grow, this will be a popular and highly used service.

Heres another great website for you to play with, its called Seeqpod.
SeeqPod lets you search and play live streaming music right away. Not only music, but it lets you search for video, slideshows, audio, interactive presentations, Adobe Flash demonstrations, animated graphics.
You can also create playlists and save them to play in the future.
Another cool feature they have is their Discover feature. When you search for a song or artist, the Discover feature suggests other similar music or media that you might find interesting. This is a great way to hear new music and find other cool media that you may not have found otherwise.

Nowadays, there are companies with cool and useful services popping up all over the place.
Just check out MediaMaster.
MediaMaster lets you upload UNLIMITED music to their servers so that you can play your music from anywhere in the world. Not only that, but you can publish your own internet radio stations, access your music from all kinds of devices like your Tivo or Roku, and even delete the files on your computer to free up space on your hard drive. IT’S EVEN A SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE. So if you wanna meet new people and collaborate about music or what not, then do your thing. On top of that they have designed the functionality of the website very well so it’s very easy to use and customize. I am very impressed with MediaMaster.
