New age web. A Blog for everything Web 2.0

I have found a new web 2.0 service that lets you basically connect all of your email accounts, contacts, notes, calendars, and social networking information in one central location. It’s called Plaxo.

Plaxo is a really great idea. It connects you with your family and friends and lets you know what their doing same as facebook would do, but it also allows you to incorporate the rest of the things that you use like your Yahoo!, Gmail, and Microsoft Outlook accounts. It allows you to share videos and photos as well and basically anything you want such as news stories.

It also allows you to distinguish your online profile from your personal profile and your professional profile, so you can have it for business AND personal use.

Not only that, but it is also made available on your mobile phone so you can have access to this information central anywhere you go.

They’ve really thought this out and it seems like a great concept: basically centralizing everything you would possibly use on a daily basis in one location and making it available on your mobile phone as well.

I just signed up for it and it seems really cool. The cool thing about it is that its not just some new type of social networking site that is starting from scratch, it incorporates your current social networks into it so anybody that uses facebook or myspace etc. can sign up and be running with it right away.

This is a great new technology service because it combines the aspect of an innovative centralizing idea with a positive network effect that already exists so there will not be a downtime in getting new users to sign up and having to build up the network. once somebody signs up, the network is already there due to the massive popularity of facebook and other social networking sites.

i believe this service will greatly reduce time consumption for all people, especially those that use multiple social networking sites but it is also very useful and convenient for anybody that has contacts to keep, and family and friends they would like to keep in touch with and share things with.

this new technology is helping people to combine their daily lives into one location. a very useful and probably will be successful venture.
